20th MAY 2017

The foundation ceremony of the Albert Sevinc Foundation

Every day, we are flooded with unpleasant and sometimes heartbreaking news, which draws a pessimistic present and future. At the same time, we are grateful to be fortunate enough to live in a country where these worries and anxieties, determining the lives of many people in other parts of the world, are largely distant from us. Nevertheless, some of us wonder whether they are able to simply ignore or escape the responsibility of helping alleviate these difficulties. There are surely various ways and means to face this responsibility. Establishing the “Albert Sevinc Foundation” is the path chosen by the architect and project developer Albert Sevinc.

The Albert Sevinc Foundation will celebrate its founding on the 20th of May 2017, with a festive evening at the Maxhaus in Düsseldorf to inform us about its aims and introduce its founder and members of the board of trustees.

The Lord Mayor of Duesseldorf, Mr. Thomas Geisel, the Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia in Germany, S.E. Ashot Smbatyan, the Archbishop of the Armenian Church in Germany, Karekin Bekdjian, Chairman of the Central Council of the Yazids in Germany, Dr. Irfan Ortac, the honorary president of the World Council of Arameans, Dr. Aho Hadodo, and the Archbishop of the Syrian Orthodox Church in Germany, Matthias Nayis will participate in the celebration and will address the guests.
The head of the “Institute for Diaspora and Genocide Research” at the Ruhr University Bochum, Prof. Dr. Mihran Dabag, will give a speech.

Albert Sevinc, the founder, will explain the motives for establishing the foundation during his speech.

The ceremony will be moderated by Ruth Marquardt and Maik Willmes.

The event will be accompanied by musical pieces: Andranik Fatalyan (vocals), Nazeli Arsenyan (1st violin), Victoria Gusachenko (2nd violin), Ho-Woon Yeom (viola), and Davit Melkonyan (cello).
