KRASS DÜSSELDORF – a facility that serves various needs

In addition to the institutions and jobs supported by the state, there are also numerous associations dealing with social and cultural issues in Germany. These associations often emerge as initiatives by socially committed individuals. One such example is KRASS e.V. in Düsseldorf. It was founded in 2009 by the visual artist Claudia Seidensticker. The activities of this association focus on art, music, dance, and theater for children and young people from socially unprivileged backgrounds.

The pedagogical concept of KRASS has proven itself to be of great importance, as is currently practiced through social franchising in various German cities and even abroad. The success story of the association highlights that social commitment can move a lot. With the educational, social, and cultural activities, associations like KRASS complement what the state offers.

The Albert Sevinc Foundation will support the work of KRASS in an attempt to improve the cultural education for children and young people from socially unprivileged backgrounds and families in Germany. These children and young people will have the chance to discover and unfold their hidden potential by accessing art, music, dance and theater. This can ultimately benefit the whole society.
